In 1971 teachers Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and writer Gordon Bowker opened a coffee beans shop called Starbucks in Seattle, Washington. By the end of 2015 the chain had more than 22 thousand coffeehouses in 67 countries. In 2014 the company had 191 thousand employees and its turnover exceeded $16bn with net income of $2bn. The company’s headquarters is in Seattle, Washington, US.
