Westpac Banking Corp is one of the major Australian banks of the “big four” (along with ANZ, National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank) and is the second-biggest bank in New Zealand. As of November 2011, Westpac has 12.2mln clients and the largest in Australia branch network of almost 1200 branches and 2900 ATMs. Bank is the second major provider of mortgage credits in Australia and the asset volume and is the major business creditor. It was established in Sydney in 1817.
